Grand scale American Aesthetic movement chandelier in polished bronze. Chandeliers of this sort are typically referred to as ‘Billiard Lights’ or ‘Pool Lights.’ The oblong configuration is ideal for illuminating the rectangular surface of a table and this light originally hung in the billiard room of a magnificent Gilded Age mansion in Connecticut. The scrolled, lyre shaped frame has a focal lamp adorned with satyrs’ masks from which extend two 5arm secondary fixtures. Originally gas, it has been polished and electrified and restored to its original splendor for another century’s worth of games.
